2020 NEW YEAR ADDRESS
A happy new year to all our members and supporters. 2020 promises to be an exciting year and I’m looking forward to working with you all. Together we can work on the best solutions to the challenges, we will double face as a professional.
I believe 2019 is a continuation of success from a year before. PEJUTA is committed to make the surveying and geomatics professions remain relevant and in line with the nation’s development towards 2020.
In order to make PEJUTA an efficient and strong representative for the future of this community, various strategies and collaboration with the authorities that are ready to move forward with PEJUTA have been designed and outlined. One of the successful achievements, PEJUTA has been drafting a Strategic Plan blueprint that outlines the strategies to be implemented on 2020 to 2025.
Among the highlights of 2019, PEJUTA has successfully organise more social networking functions by getting the members to attend national and international Continuing Education and Professional Development (CEPD) Program, seminars, workshops and conferences which has provided opportunities for networking and creating linkages amongst surveyors and to make well know of PEJUTA.
PEJUTA has made history in 2019 where the joint venture between UTM and PEJUTA resulted with the establishment of the first KL GEOHYDRO, which has become a symbol of readiness in the field of hydrography in line with the slogan ‘Empowering Marine Knowledge through Hydrography’. A total of 16 Licensed Land Surveyors have been awarded CATEGORY A under the UTM Hydrography II Programme (FIG/IHO/ICA). KL GEOHYDRO 2019 also managed to gather Category A alumni all over peninsular Malaysia for the first time ever.
By 2020, PEJUTA hopes that the issues of profession overlap, relevance of specific competency certificates, state land management, Licensed Land Surveyors Act review, the direction of profession and other current issues will be resolved efficiently and wisely.
The vision of PEJUTA remains committed and believe that the endeavour to withstands the welfare and sustainability of this profession has to be started from now. Therefore, PEJUTA are hopeful with the undivided and outmost support from the members will led to more successful achievement and stability of this profession for the development of this country and a greater future ahead. I wish you all a Happy New Year 2020.
